Day of Treatment

Please do not wear makeup on the day of treatment in the area being treated. You may experience a mild amount of tenderness or stinging sensation following injection. This can last for a few hours up to a few days. Redness and swelling are normal. Headaches are common. Some localized bruising may be visible.

To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied (especially when treating the lips), please arrive 20 minutes earlier than your appointment and inform the front desk staff.

Most patients will have some mild discomfort typically associated with needle injections.

We recommend eating a light meal or snack before treatment to prevent lightheadedness during treatment.

Notify your provider with any changes to your health history or medications(antibiotics, vitamins, supplement, etc) since your last appointment. This includes new autoimmune conditions, cancer treatments, recent vaccinations, and/or recent or upcoming dental procedures.

Post Treatment Aftercare

Wait 2 hours after injection to apply makeup to the treatment area.

Do NOT rub or massage the treated area for 24 hours following treatment.

Do NOT lie flat or bend all the way over for 4 hours after your treatment to prevent toxins from tracking to undesired muscles.

Avoid exercise and sweating for the remainder of the day.

Avoid any facial, microdermabrasion, or massage for 7 days after treatment.

Remember your sunscreen every day!

Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil, or Motrin. Tylenol is acceptable to take if you are experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)

Neurotoxin injections are a temporary procedure; your treatment results will last approximately 3 months. Maintaining your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended by your provider will extend the results between sessions.

IMPORTANT: The results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Usually patients notice a change in 4-6 days. Please wait the full 14 days before assessing your treatment results. If you require more product to touch up/adjust your treatment results, it can be done after the full 14 days.

Your satisfaction is important to us! When checking out after your first treatment, please make an appointment to return to the office in 2 weeks for a quick follow-up appointment. This will ensure we can see how your facial muscles react to the treatment. If you do require more product to fine-tune/adjust your treatment results, it can be done at the follow-up appointment, at an additional cost. Alternatively, additional product may not be recommended.
